Haubi Haubner invites us to immerse our self in his works and begin journey within ourselves to get to know in depth what is hidden in our souls. Born 1958 on the island of Lindau on Lake Constance. Contemporary Art, Street Art and Urban Artist Haubi Haubner lives and works in Freiburg (GER). Experience in street art, graffiti in the 1980s followed by completed training as a screen printer and designer. Intensive exploration of graphic art, drawing and illustration since 2016 Ink, acrylic and spray can mostly on paper. In addition to international art exhibitions, his motives can be found on record cover, signature skateboards, street sticker art, paste up, postcards, film posters, t-shirts and more. For free and without payment Haubi Haubner works also as a graphic artist for international organizations / NGOs.
I make my art for people who like to open spaces and reflect.
At the centre of his artistic vision are the human being and the humanistic approach of showing opposites, combining them or allowing them to coexist. The Yin and Yang symbolism of his signature ICON inspires Haubi Haubner to combine two dominates and different techniques, freehand drawing and stencil art for his expression.
Starting from the original hand cut graffiti stencil that is still used as the basis for the ICON Symbol, this is extended by a variety of graphic stencils. Besides a constantly expanding collection, he also makes his own stencils. And he tests all possible and impossible objects for his creative process. Philosophically he follows a self-designed system of time-consuming and very complex use of stencils.
In coexistence and painterly dialogue he creates intuitive and free drawing. With almost meditative serenity Haubi Haubner combines dotwork technique (point by point) with classical drawing. The philosophical visual language, a visual code of signs, symbols and humans, open up new perspectives. In addition sensitively drawn highly atmospheric black-white portraits. These establish a relationship to the immediate for the viewer. The philosophical considerations and questions, which are implemented graphically, are intended to encourage people to develop their own perspectives. An invitation to reflection.
